Access keys

Acorlaw.co.uk does not currently support Access keys, although we will hope to implement it in the future when we will support full WCAG AAA guidelines.

Links

  • Many links have title attributes which describe the link in greater detail, unless the text of the link already fully describes the target (such as the headline of an article)
  • Links are written to make sense out of context
  • Some links, mostly to downloadable files such as PDFs, open a new browser window

Images

  • All content images used in this site include descriptive ALT attributes. Purely decorative graphics currently include empty ALT attributes.
  • Complex images include TITLE attributes or inline descriptions to explain the significance of each image to non-visual readers

Visual design

  • This site uses cascading style sheets and progressive enhancement for visual layout
  • This site uses only relative font sizes, compatible with the user-specified "text size" option in visual browsers.

Navigation and Navigation aids

  • Primary site navigation is located at the top of each page.
  • Secondary navigation elements are contained in the left-hand column. This navigation is not site-wide and varies from page to page.
  • Additional site navigation including links to site map, privacy policy and terms and conditions are located at the bottom of each page.
  • A link to the home page is available on each page through the home button in the main navigation.
  • Navigation menus are marked up as HTML lists and styled with CSS.
  • When the site is viewed in a text-only browser, the 'skip to content' link becomes visible at the top of each page.
  • Forms have their labels explicitly associated with their controls, aiding users of certain screen readers and speech browsers
